Since I can't have coffee

Since I'm giving up coffee for Lent, I'll just have to settle for coffee-flavored mints.

Found VerMints in Candy Corner. Each case sells for P180+ and comes in three flavors - Coffee, Green Tea and Ginger Mint.

All by Myself - Pia vs Latoya

Since I'm watching Idol again(after skipping two boring seasons) I thought I'd do the Cover Vs entries again just for fun. Let's start with this season's Pia Toscano singing All by Myself.

Now lets hear season 3's Latoya London

What do you think? Pia looks like she's having a hard time belting while Latoya does it effortlessly. Presentation-wise though Pia's got the goods so maybe it really doesn't matter if she gets pitchy every now and then. Anyway, singing-wise I don't think anybody can ever top Latoya's version. This round goes to the sister! Ding!

Camouflage at work

Ever wondered whether military camouflage is effective outside the jungle? Well, I sure fell for the optical illusion driving beside a military jeep some days ago.

Its that time of the year again

I gave up pretending not to eat meat as a Lenten sacrifice years ago. I always forget to abstain anyway and only remember after I've licked the gravy off the last piece of KFC chicken. So for the third year now, I will be substituting meat with a much more harder sacrifice.

In 2009, it was dessert
In 2010, it was dessert and coffee
This year, it'll be dessert, coffee and ...

I think this year will be the hardest one yet =p Wish me luck!

J. Lo's Lambada comeback

J. Lo sealed her comeback last week when she launched her On the Floor music video on American Idol. I didn't really like the song the first time around but I have to admit the track grows on you - especially the Lambada melody. And even if its an old tune, majority of the partyphiles today weren't even born during the Lambada controversy in the 90s. As J. Lo's says in her opening "Its a new generation of party people". Oh yes. She knows she's of age (but damn she can still rock it at 41) - that probably means I'm of age too because of the 90s reference(but yes I too can still rock it haha)

And for you reference, here is the original Lambada.

By the way is Electronica or Dance now the comeback genre? With more and more mainstream artists jumping on the dancefloor with DJs spinning for them, are the days of anonymous females vocals singing to tigz tigz numbered? Think Kelly Rowland and David Guetta(Commander, When Love Takes Over), Britney and Tiesto (Hold it Against Me), Madonna in 2005 (Confessions on a Dance Floor) and now Miss J. to the Lo.
