Hangad concert postponed till further notice

Dear friends,

Over the last months, we in Hangad have been working hard to put together one of our most exciting shows to date -- new songs with new styles, new arrangements, and new choreography. And we were all set to share these months of work with all of you on October 3 and 4. To all who e-mailed to reserve tickets to the show and express their excitement, thank you for your support.

But just like everyone else, none of us expected the tragedy that struck Metro Manila and its surrounding areas last September 26. We share in the shock, helplessness, and bayanihan spirit that Ondoy and its aftermath has stirred -- especially since there are those in Hangad whose family members' own lives and homes suffered Ondoy's wrath.

In this light, we have decided to postpone Everything in Its Time indefinitely. For sure, the concert will push through at a later date, and we will inform you when it does; for now, however, we would like to focus on prayer and action to rebuild our devastated country, and helping our own members rebuild their lives and homes.

We pray that you, your families, and your homes are safe as well.

Sincerely,

Hangad

Hangad: the song behind the concert

Everything in its Time
by Corrine May

Sometimes I wonder what lies ahead
How long till my hunger is fed
They say it's hard to make it in this part of town
So many people on this merry-go-round

Some folks try astrology
Some turn to crystal balls
To find an answer,
To get through it all
I just fall on my knees and I try to pray
In the silence I can hear Him say

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time

I often feel like I'm two steps behind
Somebody must have moved that finish line
There are a thousand reasons
Why I should give up
But I'm stubborn in the things I believe

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign

'cause maybe there's another plan
One I still can't see
A little surprise, like your love in my life
Funny how time changes how we see

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
Everything in its time

If I were a scout.

After this movie I'm seriously thinking about getting myself a boy scout costume for Halloween...but I figured about a dozen or so chubby asian boys will also have the same idea so junk that =p

Latest Hangad uploads

New minus 1s uploaded: Psalm54 and Psalm 23 (from the upcoming Jescom Psalms album)

New scores uploaded: Psalm 54 and One Step at a Time(yep, Jordin Sparks) =p

We haven't actually recorded the vocals for both Psalms and even finished studying One Step at a Time so I've no idea how its going to turn up. It'd be fun if someone can learn it ahead of us and upload haha!

Brand Camp: Social Media Makeover

Social media this and that. Everyone wants to market their brands on Facebook (when they should really be on Friendster because, lets face it, it still is where the Filipino mass market is) but they want more than just a stupid fanpage. Cmon Facebook, allow advertisers rich media floating ads on profile pages so we all have an excuse to move to Twitter.

Gesu needs a makeover

I find it hard to believe that a building inside Ateneo (and an important structure at that) is left to the elements. Someone fix The Church of the Gesu immediately! I guess that's the problem when you have a white edifice in a polluted environment. Calling Ateneans in Boysen and Dutchboy! Paint sponsorship needed! Come to think of it, calling alumni in the air conditioning and sound system business as well. This place badly needs proper ventilation and a decent sound system.

Hangad does Miley Cyrus

I'm no Miley fan but The Climb is definitely one of my favorite songs for upcoming Hangad concert! Can't wait for Oct 3 =D
