Fuss over my ID pic

While emptying my bag in front of some friends last Friday, I accidentally exposed my horrible horrible company ID picture. Of course the moment they picked it up and saw the pic I could immediately read the 1 million thought balloons popping from floor to ceiling. No, I'm not posting a copy of that ID pic. Thank god I don't have a digital copy of it =p

"Is that really you? Congratulations!"

What the??? Am I that different now? I used to be a slave to capitalists ok? =p

I guess aside from the okray factor going through their heads they mustn't have recognized my formal glasses
(I kinda miss wearing glasses) and tie pic. Hmph! Just for that I've decided to post pics of how I used to go to work in the old days. Haha!

Friday track: The Ting Tings mix

A couple of months ago I had a bitch post about the most melodic song on the radio. Fast forward to last night and for some reason The Ting Tings That's Not My Name dance mix popped into a late night conversation with friends...And now I can't get it out of my head!!! That only means one thing, pass on the LSS baby! hahaha Click on play NOW =p

Thats Not My Name (Tom Neville Remix) - The Ting Tings

Spot the Hangad member

See how many Hangad people you can find in this Reconnect Christmas vid =)

Reconnect is the first Philippine Online Giving Portal. It is a website that brings together online Filipinos and non-profit organizations in the Philippines. Before Reconnect, there was no single venue that offers access to information about these organizations. Reconnect is a giving portal that allows non-profit organizations to receive donations though a secure online payment gateway.

Not even Raymond was spared

Count on Hangad's wacky sense of humor to make fun even out of its own albums. This gives me an idea for another round of Hangad online contests maybe for Christmas 2009.

Thanks Domi and Sonny for the pics!

Macau: Push-down

If there is such a thing as a push-up bra, does a push-down bra also exist? Someone give this lady a pair quick!

Macau: Last of my Venetian Series

One word: OPULENT. If you're not blinded by too much gold the moment you enter the lobby then the painted ceilings, the recreated Venetian buildings and canals, the facade and the mere size of the place will surely blow you away.

main entrance

GOLD! GOLD! GOLD! Oh and it has a fountain too.

The piaza

Painted ceilings everywhere

Facade at night

The familiar cacophony of loud chinese tour groups

Trivia: While wandering around the shops, I was approached three times by "friendly" ladies who wanted to have a "good time" (get it?). Either I looked like a high roller or some innocent boy who needed some.

Return of the Friday track

Check out this Nokia mix I got from the Bigfish website. Kewl.

Macau: Backstage at the Cirque show

Part of the package for us in the Honor's Club was a backstage tour of the new Cirque du Soleil show - ZAIA.

"ZAIA is the dream of a young girl who journeys into space on a strange, yet familiar voyage of self-discovery. As she travels, she encounters the beauty of humanity and eventually brings it back with her to share with the inhabitants of earth.

ZAIA presents a young girl’s perception of the stars and planets, space and infinity, all populated by a panoply of fantastic, literally out-of-this-world creatures. The title, ZAIA, comes from a Greek name meaning “life” and is also reminiscent of “Gaia,” the living, self-aware, spirit of earth.

ZAIA is a show that highlights dance, movement and aerial acrobatics, soaring to the farthest reaches of space and human beauty."

Here are some of the pics from the backstage tour =)

Theater lobby (Hi Nara!).

Polar Bear prototype at the theater workshop.
In the show theres a polar bear that walks and flies. Whoosh!

Shewz at the SHOE DEPARTMENT.
All shoes are specially made for dancing/gymnastincs.
They all custom designed as part of the costume of course.

Wardrobe Department. Project Runway-ish.
Was waiting for Tim Gunn to appear and say "Designers make it work"
.

Make-up room.
All performers have to learn how to apply their own make-up.

Make-up guide for The Waver.
This character's make-up takes 2 to 4 hours!

It's all worth it though. He was brilliant in the show.

Training/Warm-up area.
Performers need to warm-up at least 2 hours before the show.

There are 75 performers in the cast representing about13 countries.
Nope. No pinoy here.

Performers preparing to rehearse the last act.

The control room. High tech-ness.

Oh yeah souvenirs baby! (Notice the VIP pass =p)

Overall it was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. I have yet to watch a Broadway show but I'm thinking it'd be like this only with acrobatics and a HUGE (like a Sphere maybe about 10 feet across) set flying over your head. It really takes you out of this world and even if you don't understand a word the characters are saying/singing you still get the emotion (The songs/conversations are all giberish ala Sims but the music cuts across cultures so it still is universally conveying the emotions of the story). You definitely have to catch it whenever you're in Macau. It also helps that each Cirque show does not travel/tour so Macau really is the only place you can see ZAIA. As the Cirque marketing guy put it, "the show will elevate Macau to be an entertainment center and add another dimension to the city aside from being a gambling capital". Watch the ZAIA promo video here.

*Side kwento: Last night after the Cique show, there were two ladies were sitting by the evelator offering me you know what. Geesh this place is crawling with em at night.

Macau: Bewts

They're all over The Venetian . All cuts, shapes and sizes. Here are just a few of those I managed to capture but believe me I had a sighting every 5 mins while wandering around. I'll update this asap once I get "boots with the fur" (for Joanne).

The day I decided to kill I

There is no "I" in "us". I's dead. Only "u". Be happy now.

Macau: How Suite!

Thanks to my recent career win I'm now living the Royal Suite life FOR FREE at The Venetian, Macau. Think of a giant theme park but take away the rides, concessionares and street perfomers and replace them with a casino, ultra luxury retail outlets and singing gondoliers. This place is so big guests are given a MAP upon check-in. I had to navigate my way around the casino floor to get to my wing. Wait I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's save the whole Venetian experience for my next entry. Right now its all about MY suite. My split level, 60sqm house for the next four days. Yahoo!!!

My dresser. Cyempre its filled with Olay prods na now haha

My sala, business center and bar =)

And how about my queen-sized bed with canopy?
Kinda comfy too.

I actually have more pics but I think you get the idea already. AHLAVET!!! Thanks bosses! I'm preparing myself already for whats in exchange when I get back =p
