Mia's Last HURRAH

Every so often, its worthwhile to look back at your life, reminisce with old friends and give yourself a pat on the back for making the right decisions.

Mia let me know in 3 months if you feel the same :)

The acting and the script sucked but then this isn't the type of movie you watch for the script or the acting (we have Gladiator for that). There's the nudity, the breathtaking effects, the nudity, the costume and the nudity. Seriously, Troy and Alexander should have been made this way. When I got out of the movie the only thing I can think of was...rice! hehehe TONIGHT WE DINE IN (ON) (WITH)....

Snooze Girls

We're your dreamgirls
Boys we'll make ya happy...yeah
We're your dreamgirls
Boys we'll always care
We're your dreamgirls, dreamgirls ...ZZZZZZ

Sorry to all the Dreamgirls fans out there but I really felt bored in the middle of the movie. I don't think I would have stayed awake if it wasn't for Jennifer Hudson's full length audition of the Lion King (hehe) Honestly, did she have to scream through the movie? But in fairness to her, she did deliver the emotion. Yawn! Give me Bootylicious anytime. Cue music...to the left, to the left...

Park North Park North Park North

Having arrived in the office earlier than usual, I wanted a yummy dimsum breakfast to perk me up. I thought of my usual choices (which were the 12F foodcourt and Hen Lin....blech!) when I passed North Park's brightly lit "OPEN" neon sign. Of course I ended up in North Park even if it meant my third visit for the week (and to today was just Wednesday!). Anyway, to cut it short, I ended up NOT having my dimsum breakfast because they didn't serve individual orders of plain rice that early in the day (DUH! And they open that early!). So I had...lechon macau on rice...and now I feel guilty, icky and yucky. I wish I had a stash of Strawberry Green Tea with me now. On the brighter side, sitting in the restaurant did slightly feel I was in a Kopi Tiam in Singapore instead of in Makati, but that was a slight feeling lang (Whats a "slight" feeling anyway? KenD?) Lesson learned: Lechon Macau is not a substitute for dimsum. End of story.

What can I say? Food makes me happy =)

Speaking of food, have you ever tried Pasto's Crostini with creamy spinach dip? :)

Oooh Journey!

It was a lot of fun watching Hangad perform and being a part of the "Hangad audience" again. Hmm, maybe I'll just stick to being an audience member for a while =p. The acoustics of the venue and sound system was good. I think it was a good decision not to use solo mics for this concert because that would have been too much. Audio pick-up on the boom mics was pretty sensitive. You can tell which songs were mastered (Pag Ibig Ko, Walang Ibang Hangad, Without Seeing You, Paghilom and even Praise Be to God...Yehey!!!) and which songs were not (ehem...Power of Your Love. Plus points for Sis. Susay for carrying the whole song). As usual, everyone sang their hearts out so you can really feel the emotion in the singing. Pag Ibig Ko gave me goosebumps all over (Diva ka talaga Teen!). The band was great and they looked like they were having lots of fun as well.

I'm not quite sure what to think of the spiels because I don't think everyone delivered it the way it should have been delivered. How about video spiels for the A capella concert? The purple and white costume set the tone of the show. I especially love the silver accents on the girls.

Here are photos and a video of Pieta (Hangad's Awit Award winning song for Best Insirational 2006) from The Easter Journey concert last night. More videos from the concert can be found in my YouTube channel. These videos aren't the best ones from the concert though. These were just taken through my mobile.

New Levels of Stress

Eversince I've started this new career I've experienced new levels of stress I didn't know was possible. It seems like every week, you have to fight everyone (internal and external) to get something done. It doesn't help when you've got teammates who aren't the most cooperative people in the world. Have you ever worked with support teams whose favorite reply is "Sorry it cant be done"? Its just frustrating that the people you depend on the most to deliver a project need to be ...sigh. I'm obviously rambling. I sincerely don't know if this is the nature of the industry I'm in or this is special to my team. Whatever it is I'm been trying to get used to it for a month now and I really don't know if this is the work that I really should be doing.

The Unspoken 9th Contestant

Check out this EW article on AI and see who's the "unspoken ninth contestant on the men's side" whose "nasal warble would've been perfect for a duet of 'I Love You'' with Barney the Dinosaur" Mwhahahahaha!!! So catty...I love it.

A friend just sent me an SMS now saying Chris S. reminded him of me. I didn't know I was THAT huge and unpleasant-looking =(

Kix Bax & Relax

This weekend will be one of the rare moments I get to enjoy being in the Hangad audience. I'm excited on how the performance will be choreography-wise and sound-wise. I just realized, the last Hangad concert held in the Ateneo High School chapel was the Hagad tape(tape!) launch in 1998. I wonder if the performing group this weekend will sound as good as we did in 98 hehe.

You got it wrong this week America

I can't believe Nick, AJ and Leslie are no longer on Idol!!! What were the viewers thinking saving Brandon, Sanjaya and Antonella's asses after lousy performances last Wednesday and Thursday? Especially Sanjaya. Ugh. I don't see what the big deal is with him. Was there like an "Indian vote" or something?

I'm sad Leslie's been booted out. I was rooting for her to be on the top 12. She brought a different kind of groove to the show and her alto voice really stood out. I guess the viewers were too horrified with her outfit that they forgot to vote for her. SAD =(

I hope the weak performers get weeded out next week. If not, it'll be a predictable top 12 this year. As Entertertainment Weekly puts it "some of the worst survive on American Idol".

Green Strawberry

Tired of the usual Mcdo and foodcourt meal, I decided to cross Ayala Ave this morning to treat myself to a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf breakfast. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I made for the week. I discovered their tea selection and bought myself a can of STRAWBERRY FLAVORED GREEN TEA. First, I like drinking green tea (feeling healthy kuno). Second, I love straberries in cream (like the Starbucks strawberry cream blended drink). Although putting the two together isnt the most logical choice in flavors, it makes a lot of sense. While green tea is dark and sometimes bitter, strawberry adds a light fruity flavor to the blend that makes my evening tea a lot more fun. I'm having it now and let me tell you my first sip was heaven =) As the packaging describes it - Aroma: fruity, creamy, Body: light, Flavor: strawberries, vanilla, Origin:Japan, China. I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! For more delightful tea flavors, check out their website.
